The W340UST is a 3D-DLP projector by Optoma, whose specifications list 4000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 22000:1 and a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. The short-throw capabilities allow for large images at a short projection distance. According to specifications, a 2-meter wide image requires a distance of only 50 cm. A look at the light output reveals: The 4000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 643 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 429 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. With a value of only 25 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2020 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.
