Behind the name GT5500 is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose main features include 3500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 25000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 50 cm. A look at the light output reveals: The 3500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 601 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 401 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
