The HD720X is a BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose specifications list 1000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 3000:1 and a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Regarding projection size, the value of 1000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 214 cm. With a value of only 30 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma.

use this beamer as table projection(distance to the paper screen approx. 3.2m diagonal approx. 2m-2.2m). ps3 connected with hdmi.picture via blue ray:excellent(depending on film scanning quality differences like day and night)spiderman 3 top picture, casino royale s.good-good,space cowboys satisfactory.settings 720p,settings of the beamer via KINO. colors of the optoma better than a more expensive lcd. installation options of the optoma poor,as no lens shift. I find the optoma beamer loud in quiet film passages.
PS3 games: we are in a different gaming world (madness).notebook connected top(1280*720) top. tv picture via hd sat receiver (channel bbc hd extra class,sd picture perfect-720p)I still want to get a real screen.maybe i can get a little more quality out of it.beamer also during the day without much to darken a class of its own-with lcd absolutely darken everything, grid visible, voluminous device body, colors fade!!!price -performance madness have paid myself with delivery ca.480 euro, have already seen it for 460 euro at 321-express.currently delivery problems.device very popular, because identical in construction to the big brother hd70.everything the same, but is sold in england under hd720x.

I am completely satisfied
Hello,
I bought the HD720x about half a year ago and it hangs on the ceiling in my party room and does a great job from there.
I mainly use it to play Playstation (still 2) and also to watch DVDs. I control it via YUV and get a really great picture (unlike normal video chinch).
The projector is really very quiet, but I mainly use it in Eco mode because that‘s enough for me.
Rainbow effect occurs from time to time, especially when the picture is very dark and something bright is moving quickly. But I don‘t find it annoying.
So I would get it again in a heartbeat. You probably can‘t get anything comparable for this price.
So if you want a low-budget projector, I can fully and unreservedly recommend this projector. Especially for pupils and students, this device is very suitable as an entry-level projector. :)

Beamer with first-class price/performance ratio
I came across this projector through this forum, among other things. Since you have to make compromises somewhere in the EUR 600 price range, I opted for the Optoma HD720X. So far I have had no regrets. On the contrary: I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the picture is, even on woodchip wallpaper. Of course, it‘s not the quietest and there may be better zoom systems. But what the heck, you can‘t get a Ferrari for the Opel price either! All in all, a successful compromise.

Great HD Ready projector in the entry-level class
The picture is definitely great, as is the price/performance ratio. The connection options leave nothing to be desired. The remote control is very well thought out and the menu is easy to understand.
BUT: I notice the rainbow effect with strong contrasts! I also find it relatively loud.
The lack of lens shift and the meagre zoom range are not a rating criterion for this price. For a home cinema with fixed installation (preferably ceiling), however, this doesn‘t matter.
Criticism: workmanship, could definitely be better, on mine the rings for zoom and focus are very wobbly, as is the mains connection.
FINAL: in the price segment and for the home cinema application area, a great projector with small compromises.

Simply great
I bought this projector after a long search.(Simply super)
You shouldn‘t be blinded by every criticism or opinion.
Everyone has a different idea of the picture or the sound (e.g. music system).
I can only say that this picture is SUPER CLEAR and I haven‘t seen any rainbow effect so far.
In addition, this equipment with HD.Ready,HDMI connection,RGB etc.. A real BUY TIP in this price range (approx. 599,-) Everything runs smoothly.
