The DS316L is a LED-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose specifications list 2700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4000:1 and a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. A look at the light output reveals: The 2700 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 453 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 302 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. With a value of only 29 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. Since entering the market in 2010, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

So far satisfied until several white pixel errors appeared after 380 hours of operation.
Until then used on PC, via 20m VGA cable everything in the picture great. 1024x768 in normal font size well readable

I‘ve had the projector for around 7 years, it‘s not used too often, but I watch my favorite films on it every now and then, as well as the TV program. I am completely satisfied with the color and the sharpness is fine, could be slightly better but is ok, connect everything via S-Video and is top, no stripes or other disturbances. Gladly again.

good picture for little money
it‘s my first beamer, but for 249€ I got more than expected. the projected picture from a normal dvd-player (not blue-ray) connected via component to vga has already high qualities in my opinion. however, dark scenes are often too dark and bright scenes too faded, but this is within a tolerable range. at a projection distance of 4m, i have a 1.80m wide viewing pleasure with good to satisfactory sharpness, but i find daylight disturbing despite the enormous brightness of the lamp. presentations from the notebook are a pleasure. only the tv reception is weak because i can only use the video input, with s-video i get a more brilliant picture but it is destroyed by diagonal stripes, may be due to my sat receiver. all in all i am very satisfied and wonder why i did it for years to watch dvd‘s on a tube tv.

Great device at a great price
I can recommend the device without any reservations. A rich, clear picture with full colors. Many setting options available. And the most important thing: everything can be seen even in bright rooms. Score 1 and 100 points!!!
