As a projector for the Homecinema sector, the Optoma DVD100 is equipped with 1600 ANSI lumens, a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution and a contrast of 2200:1. According to Optoma, the included lamp lasts up to 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 348 cm can be illuminated with 1600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 232 cm. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 28 decibels. This model dates back to 2009 and is no longer part of Optoma's current product range.

We have been using the predecessor model for many years in the toughest class applications, so far only the IR sensor has died once. Since the repair, it has been running smoothly again.
The light intensity could be a little higher, but if you darken the classroom a little, it‘s ok. We mainly use it to watch news programs and documentaries in foreign languages. The sound quality is very good for classrooms!
It doesn‘t cope with some DVDs from DVD recorders, but otherwise we‘ve never had a problem.
