The equipment of the Epson USA Powerlite 990U projector includes 3800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 15000:1 with a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 display. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 6000 hours, which amounts to roughly 8.2 years at 2 hours of daily use. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Regarding projection size, the value of 3800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 626 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 417 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
