As a projector, the Epson USA PowerLite 1781W combines LCD technology with a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800, and is additionally specified with 3200 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 10000:1. According to Epson USA, the included lamp lasts up to 4000 hours, which amounts to roughly 5.5 years at 2 hours of daily use. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Looking at practical performance, up to 575 cm can be illuminated with 3200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 383 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it.
