Categorized in the Standard-Portabel segment, the EX7220 projector from Epson USA projects with a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution, alongside 3000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 10000:1. According to Epson USA, the included lamp lasts up to 5000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 6.8 years. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Looking at practical performance, up to 556 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 371 cm. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. The projector was released in 2013 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
