Equipped with LCD technology, the Epson USA PowerLite 680 offers 3500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 14000:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 5000 hours for this projector's lamp. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 6.8 years. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Thanks to its low throw ratio, the model is excellently suited for rooms with limited space. A distance of just 64 cm is sufficient to generate an image width of 2 meters. A look at the light output reveals: The 3500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 515 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 343 cm. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.
