As a projector, the Epson USA PowerLite 970 combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 4000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 15000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 6000 hours. A daily usage of 2 hours makes an operational lifespan of 8.2 years possible. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Looking at practical performance, up to 551 cm can be illuminated with 4000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 367 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. This model dates back to 2017 and is no longer part of Epson USA's current product range.
