With the Roadie 4K40-RGB, Christie offers a 3D-DLP projector that features 40000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 5000:1 and a resolution of UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours. Daily use of 4 hours makes an operational lifespan of over 13.7 years possible. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Distance Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 40000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1377 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 918 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. A massive advantage for fixed installations is the HDBaseT interface, which transmits video, audio, and control signals losslessly over long cable runs. The projector was released in 2018 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie.
