Categorized in the Stationary segment, the DW8k projector from Christie projects with a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution, alongside 7500 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2000:1. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 1000 hours for this projector's lamp. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projector Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 7500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 880 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 587 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2007, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
