The hardware properties of the D4K40-RGB manufactured by Christie include 40000 ANSI lumens, a UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160 resolution and a contrast value of 5000:1. With its built-in laser light source, the projector achieves a manufacturer-stated lifespan of 20000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 13.7 years. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Projector Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 40000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1382 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 921 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. The HDBaseT connection particularly shows its strengths in complex installations, enabling long transmission paths with standard CAT cables. The projector was released in 2018 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie.
