With the DS+8K alt, Christie offers a DLP projector that features 8000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of SXGA+ 1400 x 1050. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 1000 hours. An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to precisely align the image even with off-center installations. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Distance Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 8000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 779 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 519 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2004, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
