The projector LHD878-DS by Christie utilizes LCD technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 7800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4000000:1 at a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080. With its built-in laser light source, the projector achieves a manufacturer-stated lifespan of 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Projector Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 7800 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 897 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 598 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. Since entering the market in 2019, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.
