Model Overview The basic data of the Benq W7500 includes 2000 ANSI lumens, a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080 as well as a contrast of 60000:1. According to Benq, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours.
The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector. The achievable distances are shown in the Lens Shift Calculator.
A look at the light output reveals: The 2000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 303 cm.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported.
The projector was released in 2014 and is officially no longer distributed by Benq. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

1 Star Small technology in a large housing
It‘s not as if the same technology is always packaged more cheaply. Actually, the opposite is the case

BenQ‘s technology is getting worse and worse. This projector is so cost/profit-optimized compared to older FullHD high-end projectors that there is nothing left of the high-end. This is practically a slap in the face for the money

Thanks to CA and an outrageous native blur for the price, for example, which is somewhat enhanced by software tricks, I strongly doubt that this projector deserves the title Full HD. Maybe 8/10 HD.

It‘s no wonder the lens is just a tube with a couple of miniature lenses in it

The picture looks unplastic and makes a cheap, washed-out impression. No adjustment or calibration will help. It‘s possible that someone switching from a VGA projector will still think it‘s great. Some marketing experts describe the colors as brilliant, but they‘re just unnaturally dull. You won‘t find brilliance, because it needs precision.

The amount of light is ok, but only if the projector can handle it. This one can‘t and it doesn‘t matter which DLP chip is used. Accordingly, you can‘t talk about black levels here but only about gray levels.

Many people dream of DC4 DLP chips here. But even a DC2 can deliver good black levels - if you do it right. There are reasons why it‘s not done properly, and there‘s no doubt that a DC4 will not be installed - after all, the DC2/3 could do a better job.

The projector is therefore unsuitable for 2D home cinema. And as a daylight projector where black levels no longer play a role anyway, it‘s still too weak.

3D is OK but just a gimmick - personally I have no demands here, neither in terms of resolution nor anything else.

Apart from the fact that the firmware has hardly been worked on for years and updates are rare. Why should you have to send your projector to the Czech Republic for an update and pay a lump sum? If you take the projector out of service when updating it yourself (almost impossible these days), you can still send it to the Czech Republic

Conclusion Small technology in a large housing.

You called it right: a technology is always packaged more cheaply and it is cashed in again.

This constant dishing up of the same old fare for almost 8 years is simply embarrassing.

The last serious devices from this manufacturer were models such as the W9000 or W20000. Since then, the inferior W5000 has been constantly served up to us in a new and ever cheaper guise, sometimes with an ancient DC2, sometimes with an ancient DC3 and then back to DC2 or even an occasional "+" for a firmware update that is actually a matter of course in this price class.

While in 2007 you could conveniently control things like focus, zoom or lens shift with the remote control, today in 2014 you are turning rings and fiddling with cheap sticks.

At the very least, a motorized focus is a must.

So I don‘t know, but this strategy of one step forward three steps back must have been devised by a genius.

I would expect the devices to get better and better. Quieter, better black levels, less power consumption, better optics. Nope.

2 Stars Bad copy
I took a closer look at the W7500 at the weekend on the basis of a test report and was really disappointed. In contrast to the perfectly adjusted predecessor, which I was allowed to look at directly at a dealer, the "new one" is probably just a bad copy. Grrrrr a pity, I really expected more instead of just a price reduction of 500 euros.

2 Stars Bad picture
I ordered the W7500 and sent it back after various tests. Reasons: poor black level, no correct color representation, loud operating noise and poor sharpness in the lens - not to mention the workmanship of the housing - since the price reduction to the predecessor, the quality has also deteriorated drastically.
