Behind the name W1070 is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Benq, whose main features include 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3500 hours. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Projection Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 2000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 303 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. Since entering the market in 2012, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

Nun konnte auch 3D ausführlich getestet werden.

Finally good value for money
I‘ve been thinking about buying a projector for many years now.
I‘ve often visited the projection stores and made comparisons.
Well, there‘s no upper limit to direct comparisons.
I knew from the start that I was buying an "entry-level projector".
So I sent off my order, added a cheap screen and was full of anticipation when it arrived and quickly set everything up to try it out.
Well, what can I say? First of all:
My personal requirements were exceeded.
The projector is bright, high-contrast and sharp.
You can adjust everything you need and even more for this price range.
I really like the "short", very flexible projection distance.
You don‘t need to be far away to get a big picture.
Thanks to the optical zoom, it can be set up flexibly. As in my case (almost 4M projection distance), I can hang it at 3.4M for a 3M diagonal, which would also work at 4.4M thanks to the zoom.I don‘t see any pixels and I haven‘t noticed the rainbow effect either.
The internal speaker does its job in a pinch
and it‘s good enough for that.
I feel sorry for anyone who expects more or criticizes it.
It‘s not exactly quiet, but thanks to the "muffled" sound it‘s not unpleasant either.
A PS3 is louder.
The remote control works very well and is not illuminated.well.
3D I haven‘t tested yet, but it should be very good for this price range.
I think the black level is very good.
The picture actually looks like a huge LCD TV.There are certainly some small flaws, but if you consider the price and see that it can sometimes compete with much more expensive devices for 1500-2500 euros, then that‘s a masterpiece. Some people mention supposedly small things and then compare it with 50000+ euro projectors....If you‘re looking for an upgrade to your entry-level projector, you‘ll be happy with this one. If you‘ve never had a projector before, you‘ll say wow and be satisfied. If you have a high-end projector at home, you‘ll be looking for something else anyway. It is a completely new dimension that has appeared in DLP projectors, of course always in relation to the price, and that‘s the point. Except for minor details, my personal expectations of this device have been exceeded.
But everyone should take a look for themselves at home! I miss the dust filter and the optical focus adjustment could be finer in one of the eco modes, I think that the lamp flickers slightly when you turn it down, and that‘s it. anything else would be whining at a very high level for the price (799).

Price/performance ratio very good with slight weaknesses
I bought the W1070 to upgrade to 3D as a replacement for my Infocus X10. It is relatively small (31x24x11cm) and light (2.65kg), which makes ceiling mounting much easier. However, my universal projector mount had to be modified somewhat due to the asymmetrically positioned screw holes. The remote control, buttons and labeling are unfortunately also small and unlit.
The projection distance is quite short, with my 1.77m screen width I hung it at a distance of approx. 2.4m and 30cm from the ceiling. Vertical lens shift doesn‘t help much at this distance. I connected it to HDMI2. The on-screen menus are very small, but still easy to read thanks to the high sharpness.
The 2D picture is very bright and sharper than on my X10, which was also quite good. Every detail, but also every flaw in imperfect footage, comes out very clearly. Image noise seems to me to be stronger than on the X10, but this could be caused by the greater sharpness, and the brightness is more than sufficient even in a living room that is not completely darkened. The colors in Cinema mode are not bad, but can still be improved as recommended by Kraine here:
hifi-foru...2408&back=&sort=&z=1. Even in dark areas, details are reproduced well.
In a completely darkened room, a slight light leakage from the projector to the front left (when mounted on the ceiling) is visible. In Smart Eco mode, the black level is better and the volume is significantly lower than the X10, the PS3 is just as loud or even louder.
3D effects with Vidimensio glasses, Bluray Spiderman 4 and Uncharted 3 and Assassins Creed Revelations were convincing, with Spiderman 4 the picture was a little too dark for my taste. This can probably be changed by adjusting the settings. A slight red cast is sometimes noticeable, the more pronounced the more oblique the viewing angle. Jerking during panning can sometimes be noticeable with ORF HD reception via satellite when consciously searching, but in my opinion it is not disturbing. I didn‘t notice any rainbow effect, but I‘m not sensitive to that.
The projector beeps after switching on and off (can be switched off) and the fan runs for 90 seconds after switching off, but this can be shortened to 30 seconds.
All in all, a very good picture in 2D and 3D for this price, but of course with weaknesses (lens shift, remote control, on-screen menus, brightness in 3D).
