The Benq DX 650 is a DLP projector that brings 1600 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution alongside a contrast of 600:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 1500 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 1600 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 348 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 232 cm. This is a discontinued model that is no longer officially distributed by Benq.

Hello, I recently bought a DX650 for a good price at an auction. Due to a hearing impairment, I‘m a bit stupid at the moment because I can‘t hear the audio output.
I‘m now really struggling to find a rating for this great-looking device.
Maybe someone could suggest where I could make a connection?

good all-rounder, very solid
Ive had the projector since 2004, initially used it a lot on the PC and also for TV and DVD. The contrast is certainly not the best, but you can tell that its enough for a movie night at home. A few weeks ago, I even used it for a small private movie theater on a 16:9 4.50m screen and I have to say it was great! The device is definitely robust, Ive had the second bulb in it for a while and the device doesnt show any weaknesses. For a year now, I have also been using the projector in nightclubs where it is put under a lot of strain. Sometimes in very warm and humid environments, but smoke and fog dont seem to bother it at all!
The only drawback is the comparatively really expensive bulb, so Im not giving it any more points.
Ill soon have a new PB8263, I hope the quality is just as good with even better performance!

Recommendable movie projector
Since I‘m not a professional projector expert and this is my first review for a projector, I‘ll be a little careful
I bought this projector on ebay. I just couldn‘t pass up this bargain. At home I watch my movies on a 160 cm wide screen. I can‘t complain, I really enjoy watching the movies. I don‘t notice any rainbow effect and I can‘t fault the operating noise either
You can‘t tell that the projector is over 5 years old. The 1600 Ansi lumens even allow it to project in a room that is not completely darkened. Nevertheless, I recommend darkening the room as much as possible - just like in a movie theater - so that its low contrast value is not attenuated even more.
I would not recommend it as a presentation projector, for that I would simply recommend a newer model.
I didn‘t buy it for presentations either, but purely to have a cinema feeling at home and it is ideally suited for that.
It scores 90 points because I have no comparison projectors to say which are better, so there is a minimal deduction. Nevertheless, it completely fulfilled my expectations.
