The technical data of the Benq HT3550 includes 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 30000:1 as well as a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 display. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours. A daily usage of 2 hours makes an operational lifespan of 5.5 years possible. A look at the light output reveals: The 2000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 303 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K as well as 3D are supported, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 30 decibels. Since entering the market in 2019, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

I‘ve been wanting to replace my old Benq W1110, which I‘ve been very happy with, for some time. This was actually triggered by the purchase of my OLED 55C8, which got me hooked on HDR. So I had to get a new HDR projector." The previous W1700 and TK800 models from Benq had not convinced me in this respect. The halo and the poor black level were THE criteria that ruled them out. I was actually flirting with the new W5700, but unfortunately it soon became clear that it was too big for our premises. I‘ll just say women‘s acceptance factor....
So, after lots of tests and other information, I ordered the W2700.
I‘m absolutely thrilled with this new projector. Great black levels, good HDR, excellent contrast and the brightest colors. Of course, there is still room for improvement, there are scenes where black only becomes dark gray, e.g. LG Chess 4K demo in the throne room, where the projector reaches its limits. But this is also an extreme example, in normal movies the contrast is really impressive
I only use the projector in a completely darkened environment. So I have no problem using the special color filter for authentic cinema colors, even though it supposedly costs almost half the light. Even for HDR, the luminosity on a 120 screen is still easily sufficient to conjure up breathtaking images on the screen. What amazed me the most was the increase in sharpness with a 4K feed. In any case, I can recommend this projector to anyone who wants a very good HDR picture and can‘t fit its bigger brother, the W5700, into their room
