Model Overview The projector MP623 by Benq operates as a BrilliantColor-DLP device with 2500 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast of 2500:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours.
A look at the light output reveals: The 2500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 435 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 290 cm.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported.
Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

How can it be connected to a television?

5 Stars Very good entry-level projector at a reasonable price, hardly any disadvantages
Hello,

First of all, I have to correct a few comments from the previous speaker:

@dominator:

Please inform yourself before you write. You can read very detailed information on this page under the heading "Technology and advice".
Among other things, it explains that DLP projectors can only show 60 hz due to their color wheel, which rotates at 3600 rpm!!! More is not possible due to the technology or is downscaled. So why should this be a disadvantage? You know that before you buy if you do your research. What‘s more, ALL DLP projectors have this frame rate. Why do you need more? The human eye no longer perceives flicker above 30hz. In any case, my device doesn‘t flicker at all

The second point that is not true: The "screen-door effect" you mentioned, or to use a nice German word, the fly screen effect, is ALWAYS present, even with expensive LCOS beaners. To see this as a disadvantage shows a lack of knowledge of the technology. The FG effect is already much smaller with DLP beamers than with LCD beamers. In my case the raster is quite small, I only recognize it when I get very close to the picture. From about 2m, nothing is visible. It is also not orange, as you claim. In my case it‘s grey/black, the color of the unlit wall behind it. Maybe you were projecting onto an orange wall? And who sits 2m close to the projector? Well, not me, but at a comfortable distance of 4-5m from the couch. The projector is excellent for various purposes and offers a lot for its price (I paid 460€). It really has very good color/contrast settings with some pre-installed profiles. Very practical when switching between movie and presentation. One click and the picture is perfect. No annoying adjustments with brightness/contrast. Furthermore, it has some plus points that are not self-evident in the price range:
1 The projector offers an sRGB color profile, which conjures up really natural and strong colors with the corresponding monitor profile on the computer.
2 The contrast is already enormously high at 2500:1, many normal TFT monitors have less. e.g. my laptop screen looks downright dull and bland against the projector.
3 The projector is really nice and quiet. In normal mode, you can hear a clearly audible noise, but without any annoying high-frequency components. During a movie, it is still only audible during very quiet scenes. Virtually inaudible in Eco mode. Test set up in the kitchen, the gurgling and humming of my built-in refrigerator was louder than the projector!!!

Disadvantages:
1 On my device, a green-blue stripe about 1-2 pixels wide could be seen around the edge of the picture. But it doesn‘t bother me much and can be eliminated with a black frame on a suitable screen.
2 The zoom seemed quite small to me, you don‘t have much leeway there. But it may be that other projectors are no better. Besides the lamp and the DLP chip, the optics are one of the most expensive components of the projector, so who is surprised at the price. Definitely a recommendation to buy. Suitable for home cinema and presentations.

4 Stars Picture jerks..
HeY, I bought this projector. I am satisfied with everything, but when I watch a movie or TV and the movie gets a slow motion frequency and the camera moves, the picture jerks. It is not due to the transmission source (receiver, dvd). Fast scenes such as car chases are transmitted smoothly.
Those of you who also have such a projector, is it the same for you? Or is mine defective?

Many thanks for answers

4 Stars Screen door effect
We recently bought the BenQ MP623.
Unfortunately, a screen door effect is clearly visible here. You can still see an orange grid between the individual pixels from a distance of 2-3 metres.
Therefore a clear deduction of points.
Other than that, the image from the projector is fine.
I would like the image to be automatically controlled at 85Hz instead of 59Hz.
I have now created a profile in the graphics card with all the necessary image optimizations.
With the help of this profile, the correct picture settings are now adopted from the graphics card with just a few clicks.
Without this profile, changes are necessary in the projector menu, e.g. phase correction, without which the picture would otherwise flicker properly.
Qualitatively, the projector cannot keep up with our old Infocus LP70. Neither profile settings were necessary nor a screen-door effect could be seen here, but it was also two to three times the price.

For just over €500, the BenQ is in a different league

In contrast to the Acer P1265 (2 years), BenQ offers a 3-year warranty

This was ultimately the decisive criterion

Short:
- Screen door effect
- Image optimization necessary (e.g. phase correction)

+ Only 26dB in Eco mode and 4000h lamp life
+ Low follow-up costs: 3-year warranty and low lamp costs
+ Contrast and ANSI lumens OK
