The hardware properties of the PE8720 manufactured by Benq include 1000 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution and a contrast value of 10000:1. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2000 hours for this projector's lamp. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. Accurate distances are provided by the Distance Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 1000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 214 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 26 decibels. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Benq.

A device that a layman can only describe as fantastic. The first thing I noticed was the fan....I‘m sitting right next to it while a movie is playing....just a quiet hum...barely perceptible. Absolutely not annoying. A large device, so not recommended for constantly carrying around or changing location. Vivid colors, rich contrast...the electronic zoom to adjust the size of the image is great....LensShift..also great.... I don‘t have a screen yet and I‘m projecting onto a white woodchip wall.......waaaaahnsinn..... how will it be with a screen? FullHD is not necessary I say.....HDready is perfectly adequate.....No regrets about buying..........Recommended purchase, insider tip

super part here if you are lucky you can find good used ones for relatively low prices.and the Benq here is high end goods and not a standard booger DLP but a true diamond among the DLP high end beamers.very recommendable.in the native 720p league perhaps the best.Panasonic and Epson also have a few very good ones.but the Benq here is almost built for eternity I want to say here.hammer pictures no matter what you play and the operation is kept simple and simple.ok it‘s heavy but a big BMW or Benz is too and they are almost built to last.you can get replacement lamps quite cheaply.
and I don‘t get any money from Benq for this comment.so that‘s clear.it would be nice.I‘m always happy to turn on the device.it‘s always a pleasure to see that the Bolide in white comes on and does its work with joy.oh as if it could understand me.the Benq.super company.keep it up guys.

Genial
I‘ve had the Benw PE 8720 for 1.5 years now and I‘m still totally thrilled. and my expectations are very high. the fan is not audible even with high lamp power. And I sit directly under the projector. I am particularly impressed with the display of PAL images (SAT TV). On my 100 inch screen, the difference to DVD playback (Denon 3910) is only very slight. You certainly won‘t see a picture like this on an LCD or plasma. Of course,
HD pictures (720p) are even better. I can no longer imagine a picture improvement over 1080p here. The pictures from the ASTRA demo channel are of course particularly good. Anyone who has seen these pictures will never forget the depth of field again

Doesn‘t need to hide
I was just about to buy the Sony VW 50 with full HD. But then I took another look at both projectors in comparison. What came to light took my breath away. Sony can‘t even begin to keep up with the quality, even after a professional calibration!

Without a doubt...reference!
This projector is indeed capable of producing a stunning picture. Of course, a Ruby with 1920x1080 resolution is already the next generation, but if you can only live with 1280x720, the BenQ is an absolute high-end projector alternative for relatively little money.

Quality
I am totally thrilled with this projector. It has a picture that even the Ruby can‘t keep up with. The fan is very quiet. The cost of a new lamp is also reasonable. There are connections for all standard players. Of course it is also HD ready.
