Based on DLP technology, the Benq MX712 UST projects images in a Short Distance environment, with technical specs listing 2500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 3000:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. According to Benq, the included lamp lasts up to 3500 hours. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 60 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 435 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 290 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. Since entering the market in 2010, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
