Equipped with DLP technology, the Benq W6000 offers 2500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 50000:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. According to Benq, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without digital image artifacts. The Projection Calculator is available for room planning. Looking at practical performance, up to 508 cm can be illuminated with 2500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 339 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Since entering the market in 2009, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.

The BENQ W6000 still inspires me after so many years. Back then I was on the verge of buying a great EPSON EH-TW3500 or 5500 (with LCD)... until I suddenly stood in front of the BENQ during a big comparison test with these and several other projectors. I was immediately smitten. No matter how much you tried to configure the others - DLP is still in a different league. And the really bright W6000 with its high contrast still brings tears of joy to my eyes today. Even with TV programs without HD, it‘s great. The absolute hammer with everything better. With incredible detail, depth, sharpness and plasticity. You can safely deactivate the whirring automatic iris. I‘ve seen rainbow effects before - but not with this projector. It makes it really difficult for me to switch to something new (4K or LED). Because no other projector has such a wide lens shift or zoom. I project at a distance of 5 m from a height of 2.40 m directly under the ceiling onto a 2.80 m wide screen and have a fantastic picture in Eco mode. After a few seconds you somehow don‘t notice the fan anymore
In the meantime I have the 3rd lamp in operation. You can get it naked to install in the lamp housing yourself
at azurano for about 40 euros. Then you have peace of mind for 3000 hours. With modern projectors, a defective LED or laser unit is certainly more expensive. The projector still works as it did on the first day. The projection is still as crisp as I‘ve ever seen it at a home cinema screening.
There is still no dust or other interference behind the lens. There is also no image fading over the years, as is supposedly the case with LCDs. And it doesn‘t even have an air filter. The purchase has long since paid for itself. The occasional running costs for a new lamp are minimal. In my opinion, the W6000 is still a real insider tip today. But it is rare on the used market. If you can get it cheaply, you should go for it. The projector is bright, high-contrast and has many setting options for perfect colors. In addition, the immense flexibility in set-up/installation without compromising on picture quality is a real pleasure. So, in my current search for a 4K device, there was always something crucial missing from today‘s projectors that would allow me to upgrade to an even 1m wider screen, which is a matter of course with my BENQ and enables a really good and elegant installation in a dark home cinema and possibly only a slightly darkened living room. At least if you don‘t want to invest several thousand euros
I wish manufacturers would integrate such functions into their current projectors without charging a fortune for them
So if you can do without 3D, UHD and HDR and possibly have difficult conditions or high installation requirements, you can discover a real alternative for yourself on the second-hand market.

DER OBERHAMMER!!!
After years of a Toshiba LCD and several Acers, I made the move to the W6000 last year and don‘t regret it for a minute. Brightness, sharpness and picture depth are the absolute top hammer
The only drawback is the slightly too loud fan. Benq should urgently improve this.

Benq W6000
Incredibly vivid picture, almost three-dimensional with incredible depth of field. In addition to the great color management and the simple user interface, the real manual lens shift (very rare with DLP projectors) should be emphasized!
Picture already fantastic with normal DVD playback, with Blue-ray and 1080p format the top hammer in terms of picture sharpness and presentation.
The large beamer housing and the audible operation of the automatic iris diaphragm take some getting used to, but this can be switched off if required.
All in all, a very good device with a fantastic picture for which you have to search a long time in the LCD range.
