The Acer S1287 is a 3D-LED-DLP projector offering 4000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 20000:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 5000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 6.8 years. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Thanks to its low throw ratio, the model is excellently suited for rooms with limited space. A distance of just 123 cm is sufficient to generate an image width of 2 meters. Looking at practical performance, up to 551 cm can be illuminated with 4000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 367 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. With a value of only 27 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
