A projector from Acer is the P5271i, whose 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP model delivers 3100 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 and a contrast of 3700:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 3000 hours. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. Accurate distances are provided by the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 485 cm can be illuminated with 3100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 323 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 29 decibels. Since entering the market in 2010, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

I wanted to buy a projector but have no idea which one. I don‘t even know what I should look out for when buying one, but I don‘t want to spend more than 300 euros. I know this projector because I once played with an X-Box connected to the projector. I was positively surprised the graphics were ok and that is what is important to me. I hope someone can help me. For this price to gamble I give 5 stars because nothing else is important I would look forward to an answer. Thanks in advance.

Audio AC3 5.1 or higher also via W-Lan
Before I bought this projector, I was able to find out a lot about its performance on the Internet. I also found the option of transmitting the audio signal to the sound card of a PC via WLAN very positive. What is not explained anywhere, however, is the number of audio channels that can be transmitted or whether the device can even process e.g. DivX with audio AC3 codec for 5.1 channels (home theater sound)? Even if I were to resort to unsightly cabling between the projector and PC, the question still arises as to which output would be used to realize a multi-audio signal. As far as I know, the device has neither an analog 5.1 RCA output nor have I been able to read anything about a digital output.
If anyone has this device in operation, I would be very grateful if you could tell me whether the device would meet my requirements described above or not.
Otherwise, I can also do without the W-Lan support, simply feed the projector with the image signal from the PC and the sound remains in the device where it is ultimately to be output. Namely from the PC.
Thank you in advance.

Request: Problem solved?
Question about Klaus‘ comment (28.10.10): Automatic switch-on
Is this an isolated case? Can it be fixed by configuration? Who can help?

After switching off the device, the projector switches on again automatically after approx. 5 minutes.
