Based on SXRD technology, the Sony VPL-VZ1000ES projects images in a Short Distance environment, with technical specs listing 2500 ANSI lumens and a UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160 resolution. The laser technology ensures a specified light source lifespan of up to 20000 hours. Daily use of 4 hours makes an operational lifespan of over 13.7 years possible. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 32 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 214 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 24 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. This model dates back to 2017 and is no longer part of Sony's current product range.
