Behind the name VPL FH65 / is a Laser-LCD projector by Sony, whose main features include 6000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. The device is available in black and white color options. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment without distortion. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Lens Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 6000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 787 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 525 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. Regarding professional networking, the device offers a classic RJ45 LAN port for control alongside HDBaseT for the lossless transmission of picture and sound over long distances. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 28 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
