Based on LCD technology, the Sony VPL HS10 device delivers 1200 ANSI lumens, a resolution of 1388 x 788 Pixel and a contrast of 700:1 as a projector. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2500 hours. For basic image adjustment, the device is equipped with horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing digital compensation for trapezoidal distortion at angled projection setups. Regarding projection size, the value of 1200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 352 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 235 cm. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. This model dates back to 2002 and is no longer part of Sony's current product range. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.
Have had the Proki for a few years now (6) and initially ran it via an HTPC. It actually worked quite well. After purchasing the PS3, I was surprised to discover that it is fully HDTV-capable via HDMI. A great picture for its age.
