The VPL HS60 is a Laser-LCD projector by Sony, whose specifications list 1200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 3000 hours for this projector's lamp. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 1200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 352 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 235 cm. Since entering the market in 2005, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
I wish it could be brighter, but all else it is a great projector and I have had it for 10 years (switched lamps twice).
I am currently trying to clean the front lens ... it is cloudy, and cannot seem to be able to open to clean the lens from the back.

Still top
The natural colors and the high contrast due to the adaptive aperture convinced me. Top marks!

Frequency out of range
Hello everyone, just wanted to post a question, maybe there are people who have a better experience. I wanted to connect the projector to my Dreambox via composite video (RGB) to TV-Scart, but I‘ve tried several settings and I always get the message Frequency out of range. I really want to use RGB and not just the normal video connection
Please help me.

Let there be light
The HS 60 has many positive features, e.g. black level, volume, installation flexibility, etc., but there is one negative aspect that outweighs all the positives:
This projector is simply far too dim, the picture has no power, no punch!!!!
This characteristic of the VPL-HS 60 can also be read about at Cine for Home!
After many tests and personal experiences, I have now said goodbye to the LCD faction and only prefer DLP due to the clearly more positive and longer-lasting image characteristics!
My choice was Mitsubishi!

Best LCD !
I already owned the Sanyo Z5 and the Z3. I also know the Panasonic models. My brother bought the Sony here. In terms of black level, picture depth, contrast and plasticity, it is superior to all the LCDs I know. Extremely quiet, super flexible in terms of placement. For me the best LCD at the moment. If LCD then this one !
PS: Maikj, you have no idea !

Just wanted to ask if you can also connect the normal X Box (not the X Box 360) from Microsoft to this projector
