The Sony VPL SW526 is a Laser-LCD projector that brings 2500 ANSI lumens, a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution alongside a contrast of 2500:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 3000 hours. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. Accurate distances are provided by the Lens Shift Calculator. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 54 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 508 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 339 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2013 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
