The hardware properties of the VPL SX631 manufactured by Sony include 3300 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 3000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 4000 hours before a replacement is necessary. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction. Precise setup distances can be determined in the Lens Shift Calculator. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 54 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 3300 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 500 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 333 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
