Known as the VPL FHZ57 /, this Laser-LCD projector by Sony features basic specs of 4100 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 at a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. With its laser unit, the projector offers a specified light lifespan of 20000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 13.7 years. The projector is offered by the manufacturer in both white and black housing variants. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction, granting significant leeway during mounting. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 651 cm can be illuminated with 4100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 434 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. Regarding professional networking, the device offers a classic RJ45 LAN port for control alongside HDBaseT for the lossless transmission of picture and sound over long distances. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 28 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
