Model Overview

With the VPL S500E, Sony offers a Laser-LCD projector that features 450 ANSI lumens and a resolution of SVGA 832 x 624. According to Sony, the lamp has a durability of 3000 hours.
Regarding projection size, the value of 450 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 185 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 123 cm.
The model is currently no longer actively offered on the market by the manufacturer. Note: According to our information, replacement lamps (original or generic) are no longer available for this projector.

My first projector. But still a good projector for movie viewing today. Was a top model back then. Automatic 16:9 switching and good pixel layout. Can only be used in darkened rooms. Was always very satisfied
