The projector VPL VW260ES by Sony utilizes SXRD technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1500 ANSI lumens and a resolution of UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 6000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 8.2 years based on two hours of use per day. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 1500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 287 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 191 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K are supported. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. With a value of only 26 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
