As a projector for the Short Distance sector, the Sony VPL SW630M is equipped with 3100 ANSI lumens, a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution and a contrast of 3000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to perfectly align the image even with off-center installations – exact dimensions are provided by the Projection Calculator. With its built-in wide-angle optics, the device belongs to the category of short-throw projectors. An image width of 2 meters is realized from a short distance of 54 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 3100 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 566 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 377 cm. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2014 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
