Model Overview The projector PLV Z3000 by Sanyo operates as a LCD device with 1200 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 65000:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours.
An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to perfectly align the image even with off-center installations – exact dimensions are provided by the Lens Shift Calculator.
A look at the light output reveals: The 1200 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 352 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 235 cm.
In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P.
Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

5 Stars 120hertz input?
does the plv z 3000 support Geforce 3D Vision? 120hertz= 2 times 60 hertz images. in the magazine "c‘t" it is advertised that there are still no 3D capable full hd projectors under 10,000$. but plv z 3000 has 120hertz. also a 120hertz input? let me know guys :-)

5 Stars Update PLV-Z3000
Now that I have finally adjusted the projector and optimized the image using the lens shift, I have the feeling that a keystone correction has taken effect. It may sound a bit strange, but when I look at the bluescreen, there is virtually no keystone. And after my first Bluray movie on this device, I am totally impressed by the picture characteristics and I have to revise my previous assessment. The projector is a Full HD dream, smile.

4 Stars Big drawback ....
I agree with all the opinions about technical details and price/performance ratio. My predecessor was the PLV-Z4. I wanted to move up into the Full HD league and as I was extremely satisfied with my Z4, I stayed with Sanyo. I also considered the Z700. But I wanted the extra picture quality of the Z3000 and that was worth it for the price. But then came the disappointment. Since I‘m using it ceiling-mounted, I can‘t avoid keystone correction and this in both directions. My Z4 had this option and I didn‘t even think about the fact that it might be different with the Z3000. It was wrong not to have thought about it. I relied on the many test reports in the trade journals and Sanyo‘s development philosophy. That is to say, to combine everything good about the previous models with new technical innovations. Wrong! For me, a distortion-free image is at least as important as all the image parameters, i.e. brightness, contrast, resolution, etc. It will probably be very difficult for everyone to realize the positioning in the optical axis, which is why I really miss the keystone correction on the device. If I had been aware of this fact, I would have spent a little more time with my Z4 (unfortunately already sold) and looked around at other manufacturers. Well, maybe I‘ll get used to the keystone over time. Fortunately, it‘s not that pronounced (slight from top to bottom). However, it can quickly reach unacceptable levels in unfavorable locations.

4 Stars Prima Beamer
Have looked at a few beamers at various shootouts.
First of all, it has to be said that all devices have now reached a very high level and you can make the decision based on your preferences and your wallet without having the feeling that you have made the wrong choice in the end.
Of all the projectors available and ready for demonstration (and affordable for me) at the time (late 2008-early 2009), the Sanyo convinced me the most: the picture has enough punch, is bright enough, sharp without appearing artificial, the contrast is ok (even if more is certainly possible here), the device can be set up very flexibly and, above all, the price is right (incl. extended lamp guarantee - thanks again to the lovely people at Grobi!!!). I don‘t regret my decision one bit and still enjoy the great picture - despite 21:9 at 290cm picture width (which, according to trade journals, is not possible because it‘s not bright enough...?) in the optimized home cinema cellar (i.e. black hole).
So far, no one has complained about low brightness or anything similar......, it‘s more like mouths have been left open because of the great picture.

5 Stars There‘s currently nothing better for the money
I‘ve just switched from an Epson TW 700 to a calibrated Z 3000 purchased from PiPro.
The difference in terms of black level, image contrast and plasticity of the image is considerable.
In comparison to the white and rather pretty Epson, I have to say that I now have a big black and ugly box hanging in the living room...
I had previously looked at the Z 3000 with a friend in comparison to the TW 5000 from Epson - with some film samples and the like - the difference was actually so small that we both bought the Sanyo now.
Of course, the long warranty, especially on the lamp, is great with Epson, but the option of being able to remove any dust from the device yourself and not having to constantly put the lens cover on and off is great with Sanyo.
And we were already toying with the idea of buying an Epson - but after the comparison, it‘s just not worth the price difference - definitely not for me.
And for my screen, which is just 2.20 meters wide, the power of the Sanyo is really more than enough. I am very satisfied.

5 Stars Top projector at a fair price
Ive had the Sanyo for about 2 weeks. 3 days ago, it was properly calibrated, which took a whopping 2.5 hours. The image is now really very natural in the skin colors, which unfortunately cannot be said of the factory settings. From my point of view, the best price-performance ratio, including intermediate image calculation in a gentle way for clean camera pans without judder. I am very happy to have chosen this projector. At first, I wanted either the HW10 or the PT AE 3000. In a direct comparison, I liked the Sanyo better. When calibrating, we also had a JVC 350 there and looked at the differences. The black level of the JVC is better, but the bright images are better on the Sanyo. . During the calibration, we also had a JVC 350 there and looked at the differences. The black level of the JVC is better, but in my opinion the Sanyo has more punch in the bright images. Unfortunately, the JVC doesnt have any interframe calculation either... Black level and drawing fetishists should then better spend about 1400 euros more for the JVC, if it doesnt have to be inter-frame calculation...

Yes, that was very objective! Have you ever seen all four devices or where did you get your wisdom from? I have seen the three devices in comparison! You probably buy devices according to price: expensive = good; cheap = bad. So before you go all Einstein on us, go to a studio and take a look at the devices. :)

4 Stars again the weakest LCD
The Z3000 is my carrot like its predecessor. The comparison with the Sony is a bit of a limp, but the comparison with the HD 350 is really poor - I recommend Fielmann. Sanyo can say goodbye to the projector race. Even the HC 6500 is far better than the Sanyo.

4 Stars Successful projector
Na,yes .... the Z3000 is a great projector, but in direct comparison with the JVC 350 it falls short.
This is only really noticeable in scenes with dark AND bright parts of the picture at the same time,
but then really ....

But the price/performance ratio is top !

5 Stars Good update
Have had this projector for two days now. The black level has improved significantly compared to the 2000. Unfortunately, the brightness has dropped a little compared to the PLV-Z2000 (due to the filter) but is still acceptable. I therefore now use the 3000 in lamp mode 1. The picture quality is very good. I have compared it to a Sony HW 10 and a JVC 350 HD. The black is deeper than on the JVC. The picture quality is significantly better than the Sony. In my opinion, the extra cost compared to the JVC is not reflected in the picture quality.
A successful update
