The basic data of the Sanyo PLC XU45 includes 2500 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 as well as a contrast of 400:1. According to Sanyo, the lamp has a durability of 1500 hours. For basic image adjustment, the device is equipped with horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing digital compensation for trapezoidal distortion at angled projection setups. Looking at practical performance, up to 435 cm can be illuminated with 2500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 290 cm. Since entering the market in 2003, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
