Behind the name PLC 5500E is a LCD projector by Sanyo, whose main features include 500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 100:1 and a 3 x resolution. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2000 hours for this projector's lamp. Looking at practical performance, up to 195 cm can be illuminated with 500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 130 cm. This is a discontinued model that is no longer officially distributed by Sanyo. I was quite happy with the old box (except that it‘s noisy) until one day it just stopped working :-(
Buying a new lamp on suspicion is too expensive for me because I don‘t know if that‘s the problem.
Will probably have to bury it
