The projector PLC XP51E by Sanyo operates as a LCD device with 4000 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast of 1000:1. According to Sanyo, the lamp has a durability of 1500 hours. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Lens Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 551 cm can be illuminated with 4000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 367 cm. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Sanyo.
