The hardware properties of the PT-TX312 manufactured by Panasonic include 3200 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 12000:1. According to Panasonic, the included lamp lasts up to 5000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 6.8 years based on two hours of use per day. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. The short-throw capabilities allow for large images at a short projection distance. According to specifications, a 2-meter wide image requires a distance of only 92 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 493 cm can be illuminated with 3200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 329 cm. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Panasonic.
