The projector SLM R8 Performer by Barco utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 8000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 800:1 at a resolution of SXGA 1280 x 1024. According to Barco, the included lamp lasts up to 500 hours. An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to precisely align the image even with off-center installations. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Projector Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 8000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 757 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 505 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. This model dates back to 2003 and is no longer part of Barco's current product range. For your information: Compatible lamps for this device are no longer available in stores.
