Known as the Lightning Reference 40 1080p, this DLP projector by Digital Projection features basic specs of 14000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 5000:1 at a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 500 hours. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for purely optical image shifting. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 1202 cm can be illuminated with 14000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 801 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Digital Projection.
