Behind the name Lightning 15sx is a DLP projector by Digital Projection, whose main features include 12000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 250:1 and a SXGA 1280 x 1024 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 750 hours. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Distance Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 927 cm can be illuminated with 12000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 618 cm. The projector was released in 2002 and is officially no longer distributed by Digital Projection. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
