As a projector, the Viewsonic PJL830 combines DLP technology with a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600, and is additionally specified with 575 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 450:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 209 cm can be illuminated with 575 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 139 cm. The projector was released in 1999 and is officially no longer distributed by Viewsonic.
