As a projector, the Viewsonic PJ400 combines LCD technology with a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600, and is additionally specified with 1600 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 300:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 348 cm can be illuminated with 1600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 232 cm. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Viewsonic.
