Categorized in the Standard-Portabel segment, the VT49 projector from Nec projects with a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution, alongside 1600 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 600:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 3000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 348 cm can be illuminated with 1600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 232 cm. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Nec.

I don‘t understand how you can still offer such a piece of junk on ebay?
got it for a few euros, came on, 1 hour of fun. The second time it came on, short-circuited, end of work.
I‘ve never seen anything like it on a projector, NEVER!

contrast
always have contrast problems
that means little contrast despite the fact that I have contrast at almost 100% brightness too.

Super beamer!!!
I have had the beamer for 2 years now and have used it for approx. 1000 hours, but the beamer still works like on the first day!!!! No loss of brightness as with my 1st beamer from Epson, which was only 80% bright after approx. 750h. I use the beamer via VGA in connection with a VGA to YUV cable and have connected my Pace HD reciver there and the color yield is really sensational!!!!
I can only recommend this beamer, as it is a fairly inexpensive alternative to an LCD TV with a comparable screen diagonal (I have approx. 195 cm).

What is the difference to the NEC VT 48?
Can someone explain to me where the differences to the predecessor? NEC VT48? Why do both devices perform slightly differently in the test, although the technical data are almost identical? Thanks for the info in advance,
Chris

NEC VT49
Got the projector yesterday (EP-Netshop 398 EUR). It cuts a really good figure on the D-Box via S-VHS. Even on yellow woodchip (you can set the wall color in the menu) the picture looks great. I mounted it on the ceiling at a distance of approx. 3.4m, which makes a picture width of about 2m. Eco mode is almost indistinguishable from normal mode. Be careful with the rating - I am not a professional and have no reference as it is my first projector.
