The technical data of the Epson EMP 715 includes 1200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 400:1 as well as a XGA 1024 x 768 display. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 1000 hours before a replacement is necessary. A look at the light output reveals: The 1200 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 302 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 201 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Since entering the market in 2001, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Top picture quality for a projector of this size. I had a DLP projector before and I have to say I didn‘t notice any difference in the black level. The fan is a bit loud, but in the home cinema area with Dolby Surround you can‘t hear it anyway and the lamp could have a longer service life.
