Designed for the Homecinema sector, the EH TW2900 model from Epson features 1600 ANSI lumens, a native HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast ratio of 18000:1. According to Epson, the included lamp lasts up to 4000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 5.5 years when used for 2 hours a day. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Distance Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 406 cm can be illuminated with 1600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 271 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 28 decibels. This model dates back to 2009 and is no longer part of Epson's current product range. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

Solid Epson quality that you can‘t go wrong with and which is still good even after ten years. Significantly larger and quieter compared to some newer, cheaper Full HD projectors. The convenient lens shift function is worth its weight in gold. The only point of criticism is the relatively low light intensity in Eco mode, which means that you can only enjoy the picture in the evening or in a darkened room, but then it‘s great fun. Although the contrast is not as high as that of the 3000 series devices, this is completely unproblematic in everyday use. It‘s much more noticeable when you‘re just watching a DVD compared to a movie in Full HD resolution. With this great projector, you only want to watch high-resolution material if possible, because it‘s simply fun - especially in relation to the low price.

Disappointing picture quality
Unfortunately, the (in-picture) contrast is very, very low, so that the picture is neither vivid nor detailed. This is particularly noticeable in darker scenes. But it is precisely this depth of the images that I would like to see. Even the good workmanship and the pleasant lens shift function don‘t help. Unfortunately it‘s going back to the dealer

Experiences with the Epson EH-TW2900
Hello guys,
I‘m about to buy an Epson, but my decision is very difficult, hope you can help me.
I was considering the Epson tw 1000 or even the 2000 because it has a contrast value of 50000:1, but now this projector here is the latest model and the price is unbeatable, but I can also get the 2000 used for 1100 €, what would you advise me to do? I‘m just interested in pure Blu Ray pleasure with the projector.
