The EH TW4400 is a Laser-LCD projector by Epson, whose specifications list 1600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 130000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for optical image shifting. To plan the individual installation location, a look at the Projector Calculator is recommended. Regarding projection size, the value of 1600 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 406 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 271 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 22 decibels. The projector was released in 2009 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
The TW4400 was an insider tip at the time because, as the previous writer mentioned, it could do almost everything just as well as its big brother TW5500 and yet was about 500 euros cheaper. Mine (LPE version with cine4home tuning, which allows use without completely darkening the room) has now been running for 2 years and I am always amazed at how well it fires up the screen (3m x 1.69m, in ECO mode). With good source material (BDs, what else), you are pressed into your chair with a top-quality picture. If you can do without 3D, you can confidently go for it, unless you have the money for an LCOS/D-ILA device lying around uselessly, but who has that ;-).

Top device
Everything is just right here. The price is really reasonable, the picture is terrific! But if you can do without the "Super Resolution" and frame interpolation, you can also find a class below. The options allow the picture to be plasticized, making it look like 3D. Frame interpolation enables smooth camera pans. It‘s certainly a matter of taste, but I wouldn‘t want to be without it. I have really never regretted buying it. The 5500 is hardly worth it in my opinion, the difference is very hard to tell
So: You can definitely go for it here! I recommend the Light Power Edition for brighter living rooms, as is the case with me. You can still set the dynamic mode to Eco, so that the device works very brightly, quietly and shows very good colors.

Super device... first-class picture
Have already been able to experience the device in comparison. Contrary to the manufacturer‘s specifications with 4.4 pull down and super resolution. If you like white, you can fall back on this device. The Epson EH-TW5500 has a slightly higher contrast value and a revised iris. It is supposed to be even better - but also a little more expensive.
