The Epson EB-L1200U is a LCD projector offering 7000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000000:1 and a resolution of UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160. The manufacturer lists the lifespan for this model at 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 7000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 850 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 567 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.
